Introduction

In a constantly evolving technological world, some tools permanently transform how we design infrastructure. For us, that tool is Kubernetes. At Edixos, this journey began in 2015 when container orchestration was still in its infancy.

This adventure, forged through trials, failures, and successes, laid the foundations for Edixos. Today, we are not just another consulting company. We are the inheritors of direct experience and a deep passion for the cloud-native universe.

In this article, we take you behind the scenes: from our first steps with Kubernetes to creating an open-source tool, through the projects that shaped our expertise.

Our Beginnings: kubeup.sh and First Emotions

I remember launching the kubeup.sh script and seeing our first master node appear — it was more than a technical success. It was a defining moment.

At the time, I worked in a startup and boldly adopted Kubernetes 1.2 in production. We leveraged Third Party Resources (TPR) — the ancestors of CRDs — and installed Kubernetes on AWS with kops, migrating a SaaS platform to this new architecture.

We even developed a Python Kubernetes controller to automate environment creation. It was demanding but incredibly formative.

In 2016, I transitioned to Kubernetes consulting, helping major companies in France. From bare-metal setups to managed services, each mission broadened my expertise.

Expertise, Not Just Promises

At Edixos, we don’t just promise excellence — we build it daily, line by line, cluster by cluster.

What sets us apart is our ability to turn complex problems into elegant, sustainable solutions. Whether automating Kubernetes environments, designing custom controllers, or industrializing GitOps practices, we focus on impact.

Working with Edixos means surrounding yourself with seasoned practitioners, passionate about the best cloud-native practices.

Real Projects, Not PowerPoints

At Edixos, we don’t write slides. We write lines of code, Kubernetes manifests, robust APIs, and custom controllers. Every mission is a real technical challenge, a complex business problem, an opportunity to make a difference with the right tools and the right expertise..

Here are some of the adventures that forged our reputation:

🚗 Cloud transformation for a French automotive leader

For a major French car manufacturer, we orchestrated the migration of more than 1,000 applications to the public cloud. Kubernetes became the backbone, with a centralized control plane based on Crossplane and KRM, and multi-tenant custom controllers written by us. Result: Teams now access infrastructure as a service, via CRDs, without friction, with traceability, RBAC, and integrated governance.

🌐 A Kubernetes-first Platform-as-a-Service:

Inspired by KRM and GitOps models, we designed a custom PaaS based on Kubernetes for a client.

Key features:

  • A self-service REST and gRPC API,

  • Over 150 customized CRDs,

  • In-house Go controllers developed to automate the creation of clusters, workloads, managed services,

  • system of automatic reporting, policy enforcement, and integrated FinOps.

This isn’t an off-the-shelf product. It’s a living platform, designed for scalability, control, and team autonomy.

🏙️ Kubernetes Serving Smart Cities

For a public sector organization, we set up a Kubernetes platform to host critical components: web services, databases, Kafka brokers, urban data collectors.

Every microservice, every real-time pipeline is orchestrated resiliently. It wasn’t just a “cluster”: it was a digital city operated continuously.

💧 Innovation Flowing Like Water

Thanks to Kubernetes and Kafka, we built a real-time water consumption monitoring solution for a local operator. Leak detection, live dashboards, optimized storage: when cloud-native goes hand in hand with sustainability.

👉 These projects prove that at Edixos, we build cloud-native platforms with engineering-level standards. If you are looking for a partner who truly knows API Machinery, controllers, GitOps, and speaks YAML and Go better than PowerPoint… you’re in the right place.

Conclusion

Cloud-native is a field of execution, not theory. At Edixos, we don’t sell promises but architectures that run, pipelines that deploy, platforms that evolve, and APIs that simplify.

What we build is designed to last, to scale, and to serve your teams.

And if the official documentation isn’t enough, it probably means we need to write it ourselves — in Go, with tests, and a solid controller-runtime.

🛠️ Whether you want to industrialize your GitOps practices, create custom CRDs, set up an enterprise PaaS, or adopt Crossplane for infrastructure as code, our engineers have already been there. And they’re still there.
